Tropical Aquaculture Europe is the sister company of Tropical Aquaculture Products, Inc. which was founded in 1996 in the USA. Tropical Aquaculture Products, Inc. is currently the industry leader in the fresh tilapia market in North America. Tropical Aquaculture Europe (TAE) was founded in August 2006 in Luxembourg, with the goal to develop tilapia sales in the E.U.
Tropical Aquaculture Europe is owned by 3 separate farms based in Ecuador. The company is vertically integrated: We own and control all our farms and hatcheries, processing plants, sales, marketing and distribution, enabling stringent controls throughout the entire system. Tropical tilapia is harvested year-round and is farmed in a sustainable environment. Owning several farms allows us to guarantee a continuity of supply of consistent, quality tilapia.
Tropical Aquaculture and our customers are committed to sustainable farming practices guaranteeing the highest quality tilapia and ensuring continuity of supply. We believe in protecting our environment and guaranteeing product certifications. Our farms are ISO 14001 certified and our processing plant is SQF certified. (We are also FDA HACCP Certified)Currently, Tropical Aquaculture Europe provides four flights per week into Europe, which allows us to deliver FRESH fish to customers across Europe at least four (or three) times per week.
